The Pumpkin Neck All Purpose Nymph – Fly Tying with Ringneck Pheasant

The first fly in our Ringneck Pheasant Skin Series, the Pumpkin Neck is an all purpose nymph that could be fished anywhere a generic mayfly nymph might live. All feathers in this series are from a Ringneck Pheasant Rooster skin (no tails or heads), and no other feathers allowed.

Hook: #12-14 2x long nymph
Thread: Black
Tail: The orange side feathers with black tips
Rib: Gold wire, size brassie
Flashback: Pearl flash tinsel
Body: Brown rabbit and hare's ear mix
Wingcase: Long fibers from same feather used in the tail
Legs: Burgandy rump feather
