J. Stockard $50 Gift Card

This contest is over. Congratulations to A.O.N.S for winning the gift card!

Hey folks, thanks for stopping by. To say thanks for helping me reach another milestone (400 channel subscribers), I’ll be giving away a $50 gift card from one of my favorite fly tying material retailers.

If you’ve never shopped with J. Stockard, you should give them a look. They have an amazing selection of products and have always been quick to ship any order I have placed.

I’m not sure if they have a brick-and-mortar showroom (the company is based in Connecticut) but they have a very user-friendly website that makes finding any material you are looking for easy.

To enter this contest, simply take a picture of your bench with the date written on a piece of paper visible somewhere. Just like this picture of my bench below. (You don’t have to put the smiley face.) Email this to matt at savageflies.com. I’ll put all the names in a hat (or a bowl or cup or something that will hold a few slips of paper) and draw one winner when the contest is over on Tuesday, August 25th, 2020.

Sorry we have to do it this way, but the last giveaway had over 80 entries, and I’m pretty sure about 50 of them were not from fly tiers. I’m sure this will drastically lower the number of entries I receive, but that’s fine. If I can guarantee that anything we give away here on this site actually goes to a fly tier, it’s worth the extra effort. And guess what… if there are fewer entries, your chance of winning is higher! You’re welcome. 🙂

Disclaimer: this giveaway is not sponsored by J. Stockard. In fact, this site or the corresponding YouTube channel is not sponsored by anybody. Of course it isn’t. See above. I’ve only got about 400 subscribers. Who would sponsor a small-time channel like this? Nobody. That’s who. It’s just me, on a mission to help folks get into fly tying and to give back a little to the community.

  1. Matt I don’t have my tying desk set up yet(recent move). You know I am a long time tyer because I’ve sent you some suggestions your videos to help you with new tyers. It’s tough for new tyers to train their hands and eyes to get things right.Fiftyfive years ago we didn’t have too many people to teach new comers or the materials and tying equipment like today. Thanks for what you are doing to help this sport.

    1. Mike, you don’t need to send a picture. I know you’re a tier! And you know I appreciate all the support you’ve given me these last several months. I got you entered my friend!
