Watson’s Fancy – Fly Tying Classic Winged Wet Fly Patterns

And old English classic winged wet fly, the Watson’s Fancy was first tied in Scottland by Donald Watson. The fly pattern was introduced to American in Ray Bergman’s “Trout” in 1938.

Hook: #10-16 wet fly, standard or 1x long
Thread: Black
Tail: Golden Pheasant TIppets
Rib: Gold flat tinsel
Body: Red and black floss
Throat: Black hackle fibers
Wing: Duck slips, dyed black
